When there is somewhere I am curious about or want to learn more about, I go there and explore it. I visit places that I want to keep a record of.

As I mentioned in a Daily post, I enjoy going for walks and exploring neighborhoods.

Even when there is a route I take often, I sometimes choose a road I have never taken before.

I may find a faster way to get somewhere, discover a place I never knew existed, or simply become more familiar with the streets around me.

Going out for a casual walk is a good way to take a break, but I thought walking would be more enjoyable if I knew more about the places I pass through.

I also wanted to preserve not only the memories themselves, but the thoughts that came to me and the things I saw along the way. That is why I turned it into a project.

As I walk through a neighborhood, I can see how its scenery changes with the seasons, its structures, and countless other reasons.

It is not only time that passes. Everything around me is constantly changing and passing by as well. In a changing world, I can only catch brief glimpses of what exists in a particular moment or look back at places that have already changed.

Rather than simply walking without a destination, I can learn about a neighborhood, visit its places in person, discover things along the way, and preserve those experiences through writing. If I can do all that, why not?

Posts are grouped by category, as shown in the example below. Rather than limiting categories to geographic boundaries such as legal districts, administrative districts, or local areas, I also want to use specific themes that have meaning in their own right. Each category is intended to develop into a series.

Someday, I would like to create something like Zara’s Travel Guides, bringing together detailed information about a neighborhood or event in a compact and carefully organized way, so that people can enjoy their walks and explorations even more.
